Transforming a 18,000 sf historical building in Manhattan, NYC
for a new art museum for a significant private collection, the project is comprised of interconnected permanent and temporary galleries assembled around a series of gardens and new spaces for public programming, and administrative, research, conservatory, educational facilities for the new institution. A new volume with three new floors are added atop the existing building maximizing the allowable buildable volume, assembling the rich histories of both the site and the artifacts to be housed in the museum.
