N H D M’s “Migrating Futures” is a recipient of one of 64 new grants to individuals working to realize innovative and interdisciplinary ideas that contribute critical perspectives on architecture and design. Selected from approximately 500 submissions, the funded projects include publications, research, exhibitions, films, podcasts, digital initiatives, public programs and other formats that further ideas, discussions, and new understandings of architecture.

N H D M has been selected as one of this year's 2023 Architecture League Emerging Voices.The Leaque's annual Emerging Voices award spotlights individuals and firms based in the United States, Canada, and Mexico with distinct design voices and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape design, and urbanism. The work of each Emerging Voice represents the best of its kind and addresses larger issues within architecture, landscape, and the built environment.

N H D M’s Librería Barco de Papel Comunitaria received a 2023 AIANY Design Award. Barco de Papel, a nonprofit bookstore and cultural center, is the only Spanish-language bookshop surviving in NYC and a small but critical meeting place for artists, poets, and writers, as well as many immigrant and diaspora residents. The project renovates its aging structure while establishing a new transformable public interface that can better communicate its presence and facilitate the diverse programming of the cultural center that often engages the street.

“Stories from NOW YOU BELONG HERE” (2021,12min) is on view in the Korean Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition at Venice Biennale, from May 22nd until November 21st, 2021, presenting excerpts from "NOW YOU BELONG HERE: SMALL ISLAND D̶I̶S̶A̶P̶P̶E̶A̶R̶I̶N̶G̶ STATES“ project. The special finnisage installation-performance takes place on November 22nd, 2021, reconfiguring the main exhibition wall of the pavilion.

N H D M’s project “Now You Belong Here: Small Island Disappearing States” will be exhibited at the 2020 Venice Architecture Biennale, directed by Hashim Sarkis with the theme “How Will We Live Together.” The project engages the past, present, and future of small island nations whose habitable territories are materially diminishing due to the sea level rise and other phenomena of climate change.
